Rigi Workshop 2023: Infectious diseases as drivers of change, a scientific and historical perspective on past, present and future: Registrations are open !

The Rigi Workshop will take place from 29 to 31 January 2023 at the top of Rigi Mountain in Switzerland in the beautiful Rigi-Kulm Hotel. During 3 days, we will explore the societal and technological impacts of infectious diseases such as the « Black Death » or Covid-19 and explore the role of history and biology in our understanding of past, present and future epidemics/pandemics. There will be lectures from outstanding speakers and workshops in small groups. Who can apply?

PhD students, Post-docs and even Master students from Swiss institutions that are interested in topics such as: infectious diseases, history, epidemiology, pathogens,, microbiology biology or medicine. Please contact your doctoral school for the accreditation of ECTS which we estimate at 2 ECTS.

The deadline for applications is 30 September 2022. 

The registration fee is only 150.- chf and covers housing and meals at the beautiful Rigi-Kulm hotel.

The workshop is organised by the Swiss Academy of Sciences (SCNAT, Platform Biology), Life Science Switzerland (LS2), the Swiss Society of Microbiology  (SSM), the Swiss Society of Tropical Medicine and Parasitology (SSTMP) and the Swiss Society of History of Medicine and Natural Sciences (SSHMN).
