In collaboration between EPFL, UNIGE and LS², we would like to invite you to the Arolla2025 Workshop "BioMatter: From cytoskeleton to embryo" which will take place on the 25-29^th August 2025, at Grand Hotel & Kurhaus in Arolla.

Over the last 25 years, internationally leading researchers have gathered in small and intense workshops in the remote Alpine Valley town of Arolla to explore cutting-edge approaches and concepts in life sciences. This year’s meeting will bring together scientists from diverse backgrounds to explore the dynamics of living systems across cellular and tissue scales. Advances in new model systems, high-resolution imaging, and precise perturbation tools have uncovered previously hidden behaviours in biological materials. At the same time, theoretical frameworks such as active matter and machine learning approaches are opening new frontiers in analysis. By fostering discussions across disciplines, this workshop aims to accelerate our understanding of how cellular and tissue-scale dynamics shape life itself.
